Neighbourhood Councils

Neighbourhood Councils are a mechanism whereby budgets and decision making are devolved from Local Authorities to a geographical area as part of the Localism Bill.

On 24 November 2011, 41 organisations across Brighton and Hove were represented at the Neighbourhood and Community Decision Making event jointly run by Working Together Project, Trust for Developing Communities and CVSF. CVSF has produced a full conference report and position statement that will feed directly into the consultation on neighbourhood council's by Brighton and Hove's City Council on the consultation portal.

BHCC has also produced a collection of case studies of neighbourhood council models that have been tried in different local authority areas.
