Commissioning and tendering for public funds

The third sector in the City has many relationships with public bodies and public services.  Many local organisations work with public bodies and funders such as Brighton and Hove City Council, NHS Brighton and Hove and the Learning and Skills Council.  There is a mutual endeavour to improve the life, health and environment of the city and its people.

Funding from the public sector will be shifting more to commissioning and the third sector needs to gear up to bid for funding and investment - where it wants to - as well as influence how services are provided (again where it wants to).  CVSF has prepared a detailed briefing paper on where we are now with commissioning in the City.  The Commissioning Challenge analyses the different ways that the public sector is approaching commissioining and the issues for third sector organisations.  A mini-action plan has also been devised to move forward the commissioning challenge.
