Current work:

Youth Services Review

A review of the city's youth services has been carried out. This report outlines what happened and what the likely recommendations will be. Essential reading for groups working with children and young people.

Workforce Development

We are working with the CYPT Partnership to promote the Core Skills & Knowledge Programme  for the children's workforce, including an 'E-Safeguarding' basic level course with local training organisation, Safety-Net. For more information on this go to our training pages .

We are also facilitating consultations on the new plans for  Youth Service commissioning and facilitating input to the City Council's Child Poverty Needs Assessment (see meeting on 8 Sep below)  and the People's Development Strategy, which sets out the vision for all people working with children and young people in Brighton and Hove. For more information please go to our People's Development Strategy page

The Brighton & Hove CYP Plan for  2009-12 is now available in an interactive version, with web-links to help users access more information. You can access it here (see bottom of page).

Child Poverty

We are involving members in a 'Child Poverty Needs Assessment' for the city which will inform the development of a strategy for reducing child poverty, or at least its negative impacts.
