Action for Bevendean Community
ABC is a forum for residents and service providers to discuss all issues/activities pertaining to the Bevendean area. It is also the 'umbrella' organisation for several important sub-groups active locally. We delegate issues/concerns appropriately.
Al-Anon Family Groups
We offer support and understanding to the families and friends of problem drinkers whether they are still drinking or not. Please call the national helpline for details of local meetings.
B&H Black History
A small community group that aims to challenge racism and prejudice by raising awareness of the multi-cultural history of Britain, particularly in B&H, including the contributions of Black and Minority Ethnic people to the city, both past and present.
B&H Black Women's Group
We work to meet the needs of Black women, their families & communities by promoting anti-discriminatory practice; providing advice and advocacy; capacity-building Black organisations and staging cultural activities such as Black History Season.
B&H World Development Movement
'WDM campaigns to tackle root causes of world poverty. We lobby decision makers, work alongside people in the developing world and involve local people through stalls, meetings & media activity'.
Brighton Carnival Association
Brighton's annual Carnival, organised by and for the people of Brighton and Hove, bringing together artists, musicians and residents in wild, colourful and noisy celebration on the streets.
British Red Cross
Aims to help people in crisis by providing a range of services, including loan of wheelchairs and other medical equipment, domiciliary care, transport and escort. Also provides first aid training and first aid cover at public events.
C Level
Focused on solutions to global warming via a core proposition - become Climate Balanced. Work with people & groups helping them understand & take responsibility for their impact. Promotion of new cultural assumptions & innovative low carbon technologies.
Carousel
Inspiring people with a learning disability to achieve their artistic ambitions.
CityCoast Trust
A church focused on reaching out to the local community. Projects include: supporting homeless and those in crisis (Crossover), schools work, a parent and toddler group (Sunbeams), a Pre-school (The Ark), youth groups, an over 50's lunchclub (Meet to Eat)
