Equality Coalition
The CVSF is working in partnership with the Federation of Disabled People to support this network of community and voluntary sector groups and organisations. The Coalition is currently taking forward the Stronger Communities Programme's Equality Plan which has been drawn from meetings, networking events and an equality conference held in 2008.
The Equality Coalition aims to:
• Address issues raised about how equality focused groups can work better together
• Provide a voice for and strengthen the role of voluntary and community sector equality groups and organisations in Brighton and Hove
• Be more action focused than discussion based
At present, the Coalition is mapping equality and diversity training across the City with a view to developing a shared network that can swap training, make recommendations about best practice and explore the possibility of offering cross sector training services.
