Children and Young People's Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health (CAMHS) Partnership Board
Ros's feedback from January meeting of the CAMHS Board. Rachel Travers attended this meeting instead of Ros this time. Ther were two main topics and lots of updates/news. <!--break-->
1. Presentation about the new CAMHS pathway for the tier 3 service by Brenda Davis and Sarah James. New referrals should have a face to face meeting within 4 weeks (do they need tier 3 CAMHS or re-refer elsewhere), initial assessment within18 weeks (decide what to offer, diagnosis?). Moving to a "Choice and Partnership" approach that means working with family/young person to find out what they hope to get out of CAMHS and decide together about interventions. This was all quite detailed. Ask Ros/Rachel if you want to know more.
2. Presentation from Alan Pickering about improving quality in CAMHS across Sussex. Including more flexibility with appointments, larger therapy teams, better case coordination, better discharge/transition planning, more listening to families and collecting feedback.
3. And the quick news - self harm working gp meets soon; new chronic fatigue team taking referrals from March; CAMHS parent group meeting with CAMHS managers; ASC/ASD survey of new users to start soon; four new team members in community CAMHS; Safetynet running "Feeling Good Feeling Safe" courses in children's centres; PaCC collecting parent views on health services including CAMHS; course/group for parents of children diagnosed with ASC at CAMHS being piloted now.
NEXT MEETING Monday 26th March
