- ABC is a forum for residents and service providers to discuss all issues/activities pertaining to the Bevendean area. It is also the 'umbrella' organisation for several important sub-groups active locally. We delegate issues/concerns appropriately.
- Active Student works with students at the University of Brighton to find them rewarding, safe and supported volunteering opportunities within the local community. Active Student supports volunteers throughout their volunteering experience.
- Seeks to improve the quality of life of all older people in the City, by providing support services, identifying unmet need, campaigning and promoting the empowerment of older people and the enjoyment of later life.
- Albion in the Community the charitable arm of Brighton & Hove FC, delivers a variety of social initiatives, including disability, education, health, social inclusion & sport related programmes targeting crime prevention, education, health & employment.
- Lectures on archaeology and local history, excavations and other fieldwork. Objectives: promoting study and ensuring proper recording and preservation of local antiquities and relics.
- Acts as a coordinating body for non-profit-making organisations actively practising the creative and interpretative arts, through publication of quarterly diary and promotion of drama awards and exhibitions.
- A small community group that aims to challenge racism and prejudice by raising awareness of the multi-cultural history of Britain, particularly in B&H, including the contributions of Black and Minority Ethnic people to the city, both past and present.
- A Christian Charity seeking to practically follow the holistic example of Jesus to help people in need; body, mind and spirit.
- Bandbazi are a Brighton-based theatre company, specialising in aerial theatre. We have a youth theatre group, which is free to all participants. This includes refugees and asylum seekers, as well as young people from local schools.
- Belly dancing group for all (16+) based in Whitehawk area. Available for performances at community events. Have meetings, workshops and put on annual show. Open to all Brighton and Hove.
- Breathing and Singing for health and wellbeing. 2 singing groups (1 in Brighton, 1 in Hove) for elderly people with breathing difficulties (e.g. asthma, lung disease) or other long-term health problems (Parkinson's, depression, stroke...)
- The Bevendean Local Action Team empowers local residents to reduce anti-social behaviour and the fear of crime, in order to enhance local community safety and well-being.
- Supporting homeless and vulnerably housed people in Brighton and Hove through a variety of services.
- A network of locals exchanging goods, skills or services by trading in 6 Brights per hour: its barter without finding an exact match. Everyone has something to offer.
- Brighton & Hove is pioneering 10:10 city , with it's own campaign aiming to encourage everyone in theis diverse community to reduce carbon emmisions 10% at a time.
- Brighton's annual Carnival, organised by and for the people of Brighton and Hove, bringing together artists, musicians and residents in wild, colourful and noisy celebration on the streets.
- A group of persons, of all ages and from all walks of life, who are dedicated to improving the quality of life for many people less fortunate than themselves. Our motto "we serve" sums up the aims of Lions worldwide.

- Creative Future is a registered charity. we provide talanted marginalised artists and writers opportunities to earn income from their creative work. We give those excluded by society the chance to reintegrate and empower themselves.
- Facilitating arts and growing based environmental workshops and eco-clubs for schools and community groups.
- Ditchling Museum offers people of all ages and abilities the opprotunity toa ccess its collection through workshops and participatory outreach project led by professional artists. Activities aim to encourage creativity and to develop practical skills.

- We run a range of activities within our church programme: from mid week youth clubs to Sunday clubs; Youth camps to Sports events; womens fellowship to men's curry nights; weight loss groups to running clubs. We even have our own greengrocers.
- We are an amateur dramatics community group of adults who write & perform plays for the general public, mostly pantos. We meet twice a week to rehearse, build our own sets & make most of our own costumes. Money we make from tickets is used to pay rent.

- Firefly offers rhythm & dance workshops & programmes for three areas: special educational needs, community groups & mental health organisations. Also provides mentoring & personal development opportunities in a supportive & socially inclusive environment.
- Provision of supported housing and move-on housing to single homeless.
- Liaises with the Council to enhance and develop the park. Raises funds to do this by social events and subscriptions. Produces quarterly newsletters. Does planting, combats graffiti and vandalism as well as many community events.

- Charity providing affordable costume hire as well as related resources and information to community/youth groups and projects, schools and colleges, fringe arts. Costume hire from £3 an outfit per week.
- Community Group of glass artists/craft people to help each other develop as professional practitioners and reduce isolation within the community.
- A free online community for giving and getting unwanted goods for free. Reduces waste and increases reuse. We connect up people locally who have things they don't want with people who can use those things.
- Hindu festivals i.e. Holi In March, Navratri in October, 11 day festival Diwali. Do trips 3-4 times a year. Have different events in the Hindu Temple, Portslade.
- Hove Civic Society encourages high standards of architecture and town planning and the conservation of buildings of historic interest in Hove.
- The PDS supports the voluntary sector with a range of services including: Contracting, Fundraising, Monitoring and Evaluation, Facilitation, Partnership Building, Business Planning, Business Development and Human Resource.
- IT Skills 4 Rural Kenya recycles unused computers to villages in Kenya. We also train volunteers from Brighton in IT skills before sending them to our assigned cillages in Kenya.
- The Kemp Town Carnival Association is responsible for organising the annual Kemp Town Carnival community event in the St George's Road area.
- Provides a hall & meeting rooms for groups at reasonable prices. The Community Cafe is open 9-3, Mon-Fri for low-cost meals. St George's Neighbourhood Nursery operates in the centre for up to 22 young people. Also takes bookings for St Georges Church.
- We are an organisation promoting the literary arts for mental health. Sandy Hutchinson Nunns represents the Brighton branch of a national organisation.
- Locally: Providing advice, mentoring, seminars, film screenings, festive events, and weekly radio shows for the Mediterranean community in Brighton and Hove. Internationally: The same as above in 41 countries in and around the Mediterranean region.

- An inclusive community theatre group for people 5 to 105 with an emphasis on young people with disabilities. Play for 2011, "If you go down to the woods tonight!" Volunteers welcome.
- MOSAIC Black, Asian & Mixed Parentage Family Group aims to provide support to BAMP people in the B&H area. Services include monthly bring a dish, four weekly under-55 meetings, Black Achievement Workshops and Triple P courses.
- Bringing together all ages, babies/toddlers/young bands/college students, to learn to sing, play instruments, understand recording/music technology, participation in festivals, building cultural understanding, love/respect in our communities.
- Passing It On are a charity run by young people to help build schools in Africa. It has grown steadily over the past 5 years from 2 guys with a bucket to a team of mostly volunteers, who work tirelessly, believing that every child deserves an education.

- At PLOT 22 we host activities for groups and individuals of all ages to plant, tend, harvest, create, share, eat and celebrate together. People tell us just being here helps them feel relaxed and refreshed.
- Project V is the University of Sussex Student Union's volunteering scheme. We provide students and staff with volunteering placements in the local community that are rewarding, safe and supported.
- QueenSpark is Brighton & hove's community publisher, publishing books and websites about the people and history of the city.
- Radio Free Brighton is an entirely volunteer run and managed community radio station dedicated to informative programming and local news and opinions.
- Working with Rwandan Youth - running a resource centre in Kigali offering information re sexual & reproductive health, income generation & training. Within B&H community raising awareness of Rwanda past & present, and fundraising for activities in Rwanda.
- Silver Sounds is an older people's samba band. We specialise in the rhythms of Brazil and South America. We practice weekly and perform at community events. We want to show what older people can do and not concentrate on what we can't do.
- Somerset Day Centre founded in 1980 provides supportive social & recreational day services for people over the age of 65 years. We provide transport, lunch, entertainment, activities & trips to local area.
- We are a club for both men and women to enjoy a programme of events in a friendly environment. We meet on 1st and 3rd Thursdays from 2.30pm to 4.30pm in the church hall.
- Strike A Light is a not for profit community arts organisation led by Nicola Benge, a committed, experienced community artist and reminiscence facilitator. We use people's life stories and memories and make art to transform public and private spaces.
