  • ABC is a forum for residents and service providers to discuss all issues/activities pertaining to the Bevendean area. It is also the 'umbrella' organisation for several important sub-groups active locally. We delegate issues/concerns appropriately.
  • Active Student works with students at the University of Brighton to find them rewarding, safe and supported volunteering opportunities within the local community. Active Student supports volunteers throughout their volunteering experience.
  • Enriching the lives of children and young people, in particular those from disadvantaged backgrounds, through outdoor adventure and education events run by previously unemployed adults and young people.
  • Albion in the Community the charitable arm of Brighton & Hove FC, delivers a variety of social initiatives, including disability, education, health, social inclusion & sport related programmes targeting crime prevention, education, health & employment.
  • A project for young people under 26 who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or unsure of their sexuality. We run a weekly drop-in and offer one-to-one support and training/workshops around LGBT issues.
  • Amaze gives information, advice and support to parents of children with special needs and disabilities in Brighton & Hove. We work to empower parents to help their children live fully socially included lives. Helpline: 01273 772289
  • Lectures on archaeology and local history, excavations and other fieldwork. Objectives: promoting study and ensuring proper recording and preservation of local antiquities and relics.
  • A small community group that aims to challenge racism and prejudice by raising awareness of the multi-cultural history of Britain, particularly in B&H, including the contributions of Black and Minority Ethnic people to the city, both past and present.

  • We are a volunteer Muslim women's group in Brighton and Hove. We have different get together activities, a mother and toddler group, we aim to contribute & organise activities primarily for Muslim women & children and secondly for the wider community.
  • We are a council of older people directly elected by citizens over 60 in Brighton & Hove. Our aim is to represent and further the interests of older people in association with the City Council and other organisations.
  • Speak Out is an advocacy scheme which supports adults with learning disabilities to have their say and be heard. We provide one to one advocacy and have a network of speaking up groups.
  • Bandbazi are a Brighton-based theatre company, specialising in aerial theatre. We have a youth theatre group, which is free to all participants. This includes refugees and asylum seekers, as well as young people from local schools.
  • The Bevendean Local Action Team empowers local residents to reduce anti-social behaviour and the fear of crime, in order to enhance local community safety and well-being.

  • As Development Education Centre BPEC provides information and education about peace and environment related issues by working together with all parts of the community. The resource centre includes over 2000 books, teaching packs, leaflets, films and art.

  • Ditchling Museum offers people of all ages and abilities the opprotunity toa ccess its collection through workshops and participatory outreach project led by professional artists. Activities aim to encourage creativity and to develop practical skills.

  • Extratime provides inclusive out of school play and leisure opportunities for children and young people between the ages of 5 & 19 years old with disabilities at five venues in the City. Extratime also offers a training, outreach and consultancy service.
  • Provision of supported housing and move-on housing to single homeless.
  • A collective of holistic therapists and individuals interested in all aspects of health and well being promotion through self help and shared support approaches offering workshops, low cost clinics, local events.

  • IT Skills 4 Rural Kenya recycles unused computers to villages in Kenya. We also train volunteers from Brighton in IT skills before sending them to our assigned cillages in Kenya.

  • Knoll Comunity Association actively operates in the area of the Knoll Estate in West Hove. The Community Association has a long lease on St. Richard's Church and Community Centre which houses many Community and charitable groups.
  • We are contracted by the City Council to monitor the quality of home care services provided by private companies. Trained volunteers interview home care users at home and the results are reported to the Council.
  • A weekly lunch club for people with HIV. A safe and supportive community space to get a healthy meal and find peer support, advice and information. We are a peer led voluntary organisation.
  • Community/Voluntary organisation overseen by board of Trustees/Directors. We raise funds to deliver waste, recycling and sustainability-related teaching and learning activities, such as our new Community Allotment.

  • MOSAIC Black, Asian & Mixed Parentage Family Group aims to provide support to BAMP people in the B&H area. Services include monthly bring a dish, four weekly under-55 meetings, Black Achievement Workshops and Triple P courses.
  • Offers subsidised opportunities to children & families from Moulsecoomb in the form of After School Club and holiday Playschemes, mobile creche service, annual subsidised holiday and minibus for loan to groups.

  • Passing It On are a charity run by young people to help build schools in Africa. It has grown steadily over the past 5 years from 2 guys with a bucket to a team of mostly volunteers, who work tirelessly, believing that every child deserves an education.
  • A community health project offering an affordable, open access Ear Acupuncture service for people with stress, anxiety and depression, drug and alcohol dependency, mental health issues and Hepatitis C/HIV infection.

  • Somerset Day Centre founded in 1980 provides supportive social & recreational day services for people over the age of 65 years. We provide transport, lunch, entertainment, activities & trips to local area.

  • Stepping Stones Pre-school [formerly Parish Centre Pre-school] is a committee run pre-school which provides care and education by qualified staff for children of all abilities aged between 2 1/2 - 4 years. We are open from 9 AM in term time.

  • Zhoosh LGBTQ Community Network for Brighton & Hove is a non scene alternative platform for local LGBTQ organsiations, groups, artists and performers to come together centrally and showcase their activities. We do this via an online network.
