  • ABC is a forum for residents and service providers to discuss all issues/activities pertaining to the Bevendean area. It is also the 'umbrella' organisation for several important sub-groups active locally. We delegate issues/concerns appropriately.
  • Low cost complementary therapy treatment to people with acute/chronic illnesses, disabilities, mental health issues & carers, especially when difficult economic circumstances hinders access to such treatments. We work with community groups & hospitals.
  • Active Student works with students at the University of Brighton to find them rewarding, safe and supported volunteering opportunities within the local community. Active Student supports volunteers throughout their volunteering experience.
  • Enriching the lives of children and young people, in particular those from disadvantaged backgrounds, through outdoor adventure and education events run by previously unemployed adults and young people.
  • Seeks to improve the quality of life of all older people in the City, by providing support services, identifying unmet need, campaigning and promoting the empowerment of older people and the enjoyment of later life.
  • Albion in the Community the charitable arm of Brighton & Hove FC, delivers a variety of social initiatives, including disability, education, health, social inclusion & sport related programmes targeting crime prevention, education, health & employment.
  • A project for young people under 26 who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or unsure of their sexuality. We run a weekly drop-in and offer one-to-one support and training/workshops around LGBT issues.

  • Lectures on archaeology and local history, excavations and other fieldwork. Objectives: promoting study and ensuring proper recording and preservation of local antiquities and relics.
  • We provide a healthier, more sustainable & local food system for the city. We deliver cookery, growing + healthy weight programmes.
  • BHIMS trains vounteers in community mediation skills to deliver mediation to the neighbours, community members, young people and their families, and people in the workplace, to resolve conflict and disputes they are experiencing.

  • We are a volunteer Muslim women's group in Brighton and Hove. We have different get together activities, a mother and toddler group, we aim to contribute & organise activities primarily for Muslim women & children and secondly for the wider community.
  • We are a council of older people directly elected by citizens over 60 in Brighton & Hove. Our aim is to represent and further the interests of older people in association with the City Council and other organisations.
  • Speak Out is an advocacy scheme which supports adults with learning disabilities to have their say and be heard. We provide one to one advocacy and have a network of speaking up groups.
  • Bandbazi are a Brighton-based theatre company, specialising in aerial theatre. We have a youth theatre group, which is free to all participants. This includes refugees and asylum seekers, as well as young people from local schools.

  • Breathing and Singing for health and wellbeing. 2 singing groups (1 in Brighton, 1 in Hove) for elderly people with breathing difficulties (e.g. asthma, lung disease) or other long-term health problems (Parkinson's, depression, stroke...)
  • The Bevendean Local Action Team empowers local residents to reduce anti-social behaviour and the fear of crime, in order to enhance local community safety and well-being.
  • Supporting homeless and vulnerably housed people in Brighton and Hove through a variety of services.
  • Our team contains both voluntary and statutory sector workers. It provides a link into agencies and service providers for homeless people with mental health problems. Please ring for details of current sessions.
  • Provides supported accommodation to adult Mental Health Service users, who would otherwise be homeless or inadequately housed. The service has 6 houses (Aymer Rd, Davigdor Rd, Carlisle Rd, Dorset Gardens, Bellevue Gardens, Chelwood Close). 53 clients.

  • Knoll Comunity Association actively operates in the area of the Knoll Estate in West Hove. The Community Association has a long lease on St. Richard's Church and Community Centre which houses many Community and charitable groups.
  • We are contracted by the City Council to monitor the quality of home care services provided by private companies. Trained volunteers interview home care users at home and the results are reported to the Council.
  • A weekly lunch club for people with HIV. A safe and supportive community space to get a healthy meal and find peer support, advice and information. We are a peer led voluntary organisation.

  • MindOut provides mental health services to LGb&T communities in Brighton & Hove, inc. advice, information, advocacy & peer support group work. Run by & for LGB&T people, we also provide LGB&T affirmative practise training, events & mental health promotion

  • MOSAIC Black, Asian & Mixed Parentage Family Group aims to provide support to BAMP people in the B&H area. Services include monthly bring a dish, four weekly under-55 meetings, Black Achievement Workshops and Triple P courses.
  • Osteoporosis affects more than 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men. We campaign to make people aware of their bone health, and support, advise and inform affected people.
  • We are a group of adults & children who run a large plot at the Mile Oak allotments. We work there as often as we can & plant, weed and harvest, have picnics & share friendship & knowledge. We teach the children a lot about plants & creatures.
  • Passing It On are a charity run by young people to help build schools in Africa. It has grown steadily over the past 5 years from 2 guys with a bucket to a team of mostly volunteers, who work tirelessly, believing that every child deserves an education.

  • Somerset Day Centre founded in 1980 provides supportive social & recreational day services for people over the age of 65 years. We provide transport, lunch, entertainment, activities & trips to local area.
  • Provides accommodation, housing-related support and specialised services in Sussex. Among those supported are people with mental health problems, people with learning or physical disabilities and those who are or have been homeless.
  • We refurbish donated IT equipment and give free upgraded systems to anyone in receipt of Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance or Permanent Incapacity Benefit.
  • Information/signposting for single parents (men/women with sole/shared care) by single parents. Online group sending regular emails about events, free tickets, opportunities, training, children's activities.
  • Advice and assistance in an unhurried atmosphere. Generalist advice service including debt, bankruptcy, welfare benefits (including the completion of Disability Living Allowance forms) and family matters.
  • We are a club for both men and women to enjoy a programme of events in a friendly environment. We meet on 1st and 3rd Thursdays from 2.30pm to 4.30pm in the church hall.
  • Stepping Stones Pre-school [formerly Parish Centre Pre-school] is a committee run pre-school which provides care and education by qualified staff for children of all abilities aged between 2 1/2 - 4 years. We are open from 9 AM in term time.
